Bridge School Cooperative
OUR STORY
Bending never breaking, pivoting never quitting!
We, as a co-op, began in summer of 2025, in answer to a pressing, sudden need. The beautiful Montessori school we had worked, grown, and flourished with was closing for the coming school year and we were adrift. Unable to just walk away, we knew we had to do whatever we could to keep the amazing community together! So, we pivoted.
We gathered as many families together as were able and started something new. We thought, at the time, that our little gathering would be a "bridge" from one year to the next, so we started small. We started simply. We started in a basement.
But when the basement was no longer an option, we pivoted again. We sought out space in downtown Bedford, and very nearly signed on the very expensive line, when the Universe intervened. A space was available that we never thought we could possibly hope for--Sedalia Center wanted to meet with us.
It was love at first sight! Three gorgeous rooms that were begging to once again be classrooms. Views that were absolutely to die for. And a group of people who loved learning, loved the arts, loved education and working with students, the community, the Earth as much as we did. We signed on the line and that was it. We were in it!
Within five short months we went from something temporary, fleeting, a filler, to something with a bright, bold, radiant future. We knew this was it. We were going to do whatever it took to keep Bridge School alive.
But we can't do it alone! Everything we do is out of love, but also out of pocket. Our goal is to be a self-sustaining non-profit, but until then, we rely heavily on our community to stay afloat. On volunteers who help us add enriching classes to our schedules. On donations to help compensate our educators and keep our shelves stocked with supplies. Glue sticks aren't cheap!
As we grow and evolve, expand and thrive in our new space, our focus will remain the same:
To enrich the lives of children, their families, and our community through education.
